Some may wonder why about the website address of Berean Baptist. Our greatest mission as a church is to show “The Way” by which each person may be made right with God and given a home in Heaven. Just to clarify, Berean Baptist is not “The way.” Jesus Christ is the only way and our goal is to lead people to Him. The Bible says in John 14:6John 14:6

We had nineteen people from Berean Baptist (Kamloops) drive up to Williams Lake on Tuesday, Sept 15.09 to take in the “Get Acquainted Meetings” with Pastor Lendvoy. This church is brand new and it is going to be exciting to see how God works in the community of Williams Lake through this church. As I look at the world around me I am struck by the somewhat meaningless many people live. Many live for the hour, the day and the week but no further. It really begs the questions, What is the meaning of life?
I believe the meaning of life starts with understanding that there is a God and that He wants to have a relationship with us. As we learn more and more we realize that we are all sinners Romans 3:10Romans 3:10

People so often believe they will go to Heaven if they are a good person but this is not enough. We must all trust in Jesus Christ alone to forgive us for our sins and to provide eternal life in Heaven. Being a good person is something we should all attempt to do. We should try be as honest and caring with each other as possible. A true Christian does good deeds and works because he/she loves God and their fellow human and not out of self serving reasons of trying to procure eternal life in Heaven. Many do good deeds out of a slavish fear that by doing those good works they will be admitted into Heaven. The real reason for doing good deeds should be out of love and compassion and not for what we can gain out of doing them.
Once a person has become a Christian it gives a totally new meaning to the question What is the meaning of life? As a Christian, we have a clear mandate from the Bible that tells us that we are to “…teach all nations” Matthew 28:19-20Matthew 28:19-20

Our Wednesday Bible Study & Prayer Meeting starts at 7 PM and runs till about 8:30 PM. We are going through Clarence Sexton’s book “Following Christ and Fishing for men” at this time. The emphasis on this study is that once we are following Christ individually and as a church we will naturally want to tell people about Jesus and how they can know how to get to Heaven. The prayer meeting follows the Bible study and gives everyone the opportunity to make prayer requests. We then break up into groups (men, women, teens, younger kids) and bring the requests before God.
Our Sunday Evening Service starts at 5 PM each Sunday. Pastor Kuiper is currently working through a series of messages on the life and mission of Jonah.
Our Sunday Morning Worship service starts immediately after the Sunday School at 11 AM. Pastor Vaal is currently doing a series of character studies on the life of Moses. Moses is not just an old archaic patriarch of the Old Testament. Moses was hand chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of the land of Egypt. At the first Moses strongly felt unqualified to take on this task but later took it on and proved to be a very faithful guide. His strength as a leader is remarkable considering his humility. We hope you are able to join us for this journey into the life of Moses.
All our Sunday School classes begin at 10:00 AM. In our adult class we are going through the book of Proverbs verse by verse attempting to glean as much as we can from each concept taught in this book. Proverbs is one of the Books of Wisdom written by King Solomon. There is advice for practically every situation in life. We have a question and answer period following the study.
This last week at Berean was quite a busy one. We had Phil & Hilda Smith from Vision Baptist Church Mobile Bearing Precious Seed ministries come with three others to help us produce John & Romans. They came out with a trailer loaded with these portions of scripture in their rough printed form (called signatures) and the covers that we had printed in Edmonton. They also came with electric staplers, a folder and a three-sided cutter. We were able to assemble 13,712e 13,712

WP-Bible plugin John & Romans in two days with an average of about twenty-one people helping out each day. We had a good time of fellowship with each other while we assembled these portions of the Bible. We will be distributing them throughout Northern Kamloops during the month of September.
We had a great day in church yesterday (Sunday) with visitors from Leduc (Alberta), Quesnel, Chase, and Williams Lake in our service. Following the evening service we had a close time together as we partook of Communion.

Synopsis: Pilgrim’s Progress has to be John Bunyan’s most popular work. It is an allegorical story depicting the life of a man named Christian who, at the beginning of the story, becomes convicted of his sin and is directed to cross of Christ. After salvation Christian goes through many trials & tribulations but also experiences great joy as he traverses the Christian walk. Bunyan has artfully given woven different characters into Christian’s life such as Mr.Worldywiseman and Mr.Talkative.
