WHERE WILL IT END?

by: Alan Vaal

Dear Friend,
Have you ever thought about the reason for your existence? What is the purpose of your life, and where is it leading? What will it all amount to ten seconds after you die? Where will your eternal soul be while some clergyman passes out pleasant commendations over your cold body? Oh my friend, where will you spend eternity?

Unceasingly, time runs its hurried course. The hands of the clock sweep over our faces, leaving in their wake: wrinkles, loose folds and gray hair. Undeterred by wigs and heavy make- up, age greets us in the morning mirror. Moments, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years and decades fly away as they pour through the funnel of time – fleeting lives, never to be recovered. ” For what is your life? It is even as a vapour, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away”. ( James 4: 14James 4: 14
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. It...: or, For it is

Generation after generation live and die like dogs, totally oblivious to a higher goal for their lives. Monotony and futility is the common lot shared with the animals. ‘Eat drink and be merry; for tomorrow we die,’ is their motto. Blind to the reality of the life to come, and a ‘Day of Reckoning’, mankind carelessly expends its little candle. Like lemmings in droves, they plunge headlong to their destruction, without ever a thought. Oh my friend, where will you spend eternity?

Few today have ever read the Holy Bible, let alone take it seriously. It is considered outmoded and medieval. With great gusto and delight, many a ‘modern mind’ has mocked God and the old Book; yet pay them a visit upon their death-beds and see the terror on their transfixed faces, as they edge toward the blackness of that eternal night. Suddenly, satire and scoffing offer no comfort to the one who is without God and without hope. ” How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?” Hebrews 2:3Hebrews 2:3
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Oh my friend, where will you spend eternity?

You must quickly set about seeking God’s salvation:

First:

God’s Word says that you must realize that you are a sinner. Ever since Adam fell and plunged the human race into sin, “All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.”; “There is none righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:23,10,12Romans 3:23,10,12
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

. Let’s stop pretending , and face up to the TRUTH. Lust, Lies, theft, greed, grudges, impatience, intolerance, envy, pride, conceit, anger, hatred, violence, revolt and rebellion are all part and parcel of the human condition. You and I , at one time or another, have committed all of these sins, and more; when only one is necessary to condemn us. The fact that “Sin is the transgression of the Law” makes us guilty of breaking God’s commandments. Every sin is a sin committed against God. Therefore, it is God “with whom we have to do” (1 John 3:41 John 3:4
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Secondly:

You must realize that there is a pay-day coming for sins: “For the wages of sin is death.”; “The soul that sinneth it shall die.”; “…and as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement.” God has set the date of your departure from this world. Ready or not, you have an appointment with death, which you will keep. Don’t deceive yourself into thinking that there’s a second chance; that you will return to earth perhaps as a frog or a cow or some other person where you will live out successive cycles until perfection is reached. “It is appointed unto men once to die.” – not many times! Neither console yourself with the ludicrous lie that there exists somewhere a purgatory between heaven and hell where our soul may be purged of its sins and made ready for heaven. Remember, the next stop after death on God’s calendar is judgment: “…once to die, but after this the judgment.” If you die in your sins, unpardoned and unforgiven, you will have to pay for them yourself throughout all eternity. God, who is holy and just cannot turn a blind eye to your sins. Not one guilty sinner, nor one sin will be permitted to pollute the purity of heaven. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”; “But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Romans 6:23Romans 6:23
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

) Dear friend, if you wish, you may choose to laugh at a literal burning hell, but before your body has had time to cool, you will believe in it more soundly than I do.

Thirdly:

You must realize that you cannot save yourself.. Drowning men need outside help. Man cannot save his own soul. Salvation is all of God. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us.”; “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of ourselves: It is the gift of God: not of works, lest any Man should boast.”; “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnessnes are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” (Titus 3:5Titus 3:5
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

) If your hope of heaven rests on your tainted ‘good works’, you will surely never see that place.

Fourthly:

You, and you alone, must trust Christ to wipe out your sins. Out of love for your hell-bound soul, God left heaven’s glory and came down to this sin-cursed earth, where He suffered a cruel death in your place. The sinless Saviour took all your sins upon Himself, and was punished for them. He paid your penalty. He was buried, but rose from the dead the third day, then rejoined his Father in heaven.

Settle it once and for all:

Only Christ can open heaven’s gate for you. Don’t be misled by a multitude of false prophets and quack religions. “Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.” All that is left for you to do is to admit to God in prayer that you are a condemned sinner, and ask Christ to save you. Put your trust in the strong arm of Him, ‘who is mighty to save’. Because “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”; “He that believeth the son hath everlasting life: And he that believeth not the Son shall not see life: But the wrath of God abideth on Him.”(John 14:6John 14:6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

) Dear lost sinner, neither family, friends nor clergy can make this decision for you. You, and you alone, must turn from your sins and trust Christ.

The purpose of this brief transitory life is plain. It is to properly prepare us for the next one. After leading meaningless lives, a constant column of humanity arrives at the end of the tunnel, only to step out into a Christless eternity – Don’t join them!

If you have taken this Gospel message to heart and obeyed it, be certain to let us know. God has a blueprint for your new life in Christ.
