Pastor Gregory Vaal trusted Jesus Christ as his Personal Saviour when he was five years old and at the age of twelve committed his life to God for active service. As a teen and young adult he was very involved in his local church; teaching Sunday School classes, leading youth groups, organizing Vacation Bible Schools, etc. Gregory graduated from The King’s University College in Edmonton with a Bachelor of Science and then went on to train and work as a Paramedic (ACP) for nearly 20 years. Along with his church responsibilities he currently works bi-vocationally as a calltaker and dispatcher for BC ambulance dispatch. Gregory took pastoral training through his home church, Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood Park, Alberta, served at New Testament Baptist Church in Edmonton as Assistant Pastor from 2007 – 2009, and was formally ordained on February 28, 2009 at Victory Baptist Church.
In April 2009 Pastor Vaal and his family moved to Kamloops to assume the pastorate of Berean Baptist Church. They love living in BC and have come to care deeply for the people of Berean Baptist and the city of Kamloops. Community connections, including volunteering as a chaplain at several nursing homes, the Royal Inland hospital, and previously at KRCC, are an important part of the ministry here. Pastor Vaal is passionate about sharing with people the incredible gift of Salvation and the transforming power of God’s Word. He has witnessed relationships restored, families strengthened, and lives mended, all as a result of individuals trusting Christ as their Saviour and then beginning to follow God’s plan for their life. If you are looking for a church family or have questions about the Christian faith Pastor Vaal would love to connect with you!
