Join us this Sunday, April 5 at 10:30 am, as we remember and celebrate the event that is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. The resurrection of Jesus Christ – the most important date on the Christian calendar! This service will include a combination of scripture readings, congregational singing, choir special music and a message from God’s Word. At the conclusion of the service, we will share a meal for all who can stay.
Over 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ proved His power over sin, death, and Satan when he rose from the grave three days after being cruelly put to death by Roman crucifixion. Christ’s resurrection gives the true believer assurance that we, too, will rise again.“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” (I Corinthians 15:20-22). His payment for sin and subsequent victory over the grave removes for us the fear of death. It gives us the confidence that when we leave this beautiful, but pain-filled, world we will exchange it for an eternal Heavenly home. “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (I Corinthians 15:55-57).
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life” (I John 5:13).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)
